Overview:
To create a mixed development of apartments and houses on
the banks of the Rochdale Canal with access of Claremont
Street. Prices are expected
to start at £125,000 with some of the unit shown on the map
below allocated for affordable housing - this means if you
fit the criteria set out then you get a discount on the
purchase price.
Latest: Work is now almost
complete. |

Failsworth Community Centre Plans

Overview: To create a new
community centre in the Failsworth district centre adjacent
to Pifco Mill.
The new centre
will be around twice the size of the existing centre and
will include a bar, function room and purpose built crèche
and playgroup rooms.
Latest: Officers and
councillors are working to develop new plans, which should
be available soon. |

Failsworth School Plans |

Overview: To build a new
high school on Brierley Avenue through a Private Finance
Initiative.
The school will
see state of the art facilities for the community and the
site will be secured which means children will not be
allowed to leave the site during the school day.
Latest: Work has now begun
on site with an expected completion date o Feb 2008. |

To regenerate the war memorial gardens on Oldham Road,
Failsworth.
Latest: - £98,000 secured for
the work which is expected to start at Christmas 2006. |
